Frequently Asked Questions
Our support team answers these questions nearly every day. We thought they could be useful for you too.
General
FileKitPro is an all-in-one file toolkit that lets you merge, split, convert, compress, encrypt, and organize PDFs, videos, audio files, and images — directly in your browser. No software installation required.
Yes. All tools are free to use with generous daily limits. For power users who need unlimited conversions and batch processing, we offer an affordable Premium plan.
We support 43+ source formats across PDF, video (MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV, WebM, FLV, and 25+ more), audio (MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG, AAC, OPUS, and 20+ more), and images (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, BMP, TIFF).
Three things set us apart: privacy — all processing is local, no file uploads; breadth — 120+ tools covering PDF, video, audio, and images in one place; and speed — running at near-native performance in your browser.
Absolutely. All processing happens locally in your browser — your files, passwords, and data never leave your device. We cannot access, view, or copy your files in any way. This is the core principle behind FileKitPro's zero-upload architecture.
Yes. FileKitPro works on any modern browser — desktop, tablet, or phone. The tools adapt to your screen size, and since processing happens locally, you can convert files even on the go without using mobile data for uploads.
FileKitPro runs in any modern browser — we recommend Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. For the best performance, we recommend a device with at least 4 GB of RAM. Processing speed depends on your device's CPU and the size of your files, but since everything runs locally, there's no network transfer time to worry about.
FileKitPro runs directly in your browser. Conversion speed depends on your device's CPU and the file size — but since nothing is uploaded, you skip network transfer time entirely. Most conversions complete in seconds on a modern device.
PDF Tools
Yes. FileKitPro preserves the original page dimensions of each source PDF. If you have a mix of A4 and Letter pages, both sizes will appear as-is in the merged output. For uniform sizing, consider converting pages to a standard size first.
Free users can merge up to 2 files at a time. Premium users can merge up to 20 files in one batch. There's no hard page-count limit, though very large documents may take longer to process.
No. FileKitPro splits PDFs losslessly — page content, resolution, and formatting are preserved exactly as in the original.
Yes. You can select any combination of pages — for example, pages 1, 5, and 10-12 — even if they aren't adjacent in the original document.
No. FileKitPro creates a new PDF from your selected pages. Your original file is never modified or uploaded — all processing happens locally in your browser.
You can rotate pages individually by clicking on each thumbnail. Each page can have its own orientation — mix portrait and landscape pages freely in the same document.
No. Rotation is a metadata operation — it only changes the display orientation, not the underlying content. Your text, images, and formatting remain at full quality.
FileKitPro creates a new PDF without the deleted pages. Your original file remains untouched on your device — you can always go back to it if you delete the wrong pages.
Yes. Click the Reverse Order button to instantly flip the sequence — the last page becomes first, and so on. This is especially useful for right-to-left documents or countdown-style presentations.
Yes. Each page is displayed as a thumbnail with its page number. Click any thumbnail to see a larger preview of that page before deciding where to place it.
Choose JPG for photos, scanned documents, and when you need smaller file sizes. Choose PNG for PDFs with text, logos, diagrams, or transparency — PNG preserves sharp edges and is lossless.
By default, images are rendered at the PDF's original resolution. You can scale the output up or down (25%–100%) using the quality controls to balance file size and image clarity.
JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, GIF, SVG, AVIF, and HEIC. HEIC files (from iPhones) are automatically decoded in your browser without any upload.
Yes. You can choose to preserve each image's original dimensions or fit them to a standard page size such as A4 or Letter.
FileKitPro uses AES-256 encryption, the strongest widely available standard. All processing happens locally in your browser — your password and file content never touch a server.
There is no password recovery mechanism — that's by design. Without the password, the encrypted PDF cannot be opened. Make sure to store your password in a password manager or somewhere safe.
No. You must know the correct password to decrypt a PDF. FileKitPro cannot bypass or crack passwords — this is an intentional security feature, not a limitation.
No. Like all FileKitPro tools, decryption happens entirely in your browser. Your password is used locally to unlock the file and is never transmitted anywhere.
Blank pages match the dimensions of the existing pages in your PDF (typically A4 or Letter). This ensures consistency throughout your document.
Yes. You can specify the number of blank pages to insert and choose to place them at the start, end, or after any specific page in your document.
